Cabinet Before and After

Well, I am back from rehab.

Actually, the boyfriend finally paid my bail.

In truth, my reality tv stint ended.

I was kidnapped. And Stockholm syndrome is a powerful thing.

Obama had called - he wanted me to be in his cabinet.

Speaking of cabinets, I finally finished my curio cabinet. Want the before and after? I thought you would never ask :)

The very brown before.

Disassembled with a coat of white semi-gloss. Unfortunately the mirror broke in the back as I took it apart...oops!

Even the hinges, knobs, and glass-holder-inners got a quick coat in silver paint.

And the 'wheally' white after...overall, I like it much better for this room. Since the cabinet was free in the first place, I couldn't justify replacing the mirror...so a thin piece of plywood took it's place instead. Maybe one day I can find a craigslister who will give me a big mirror in exchange for a featured post on Bower Power...yea, fat chance but a girl can dream, right?!?!

And the truth is, I have been gone. Not anything exciting. Just lurking. And taking a wee sabatical from posting. I figured a mini vacay would replenish, refresh, and revive. You know it's been six months now since I started this baby? (Note - I am refering to Bower Power as my baby. No mom, I am not pregnant.) Maybe this break will help this blog from becoming a blahg :) It's good to be back though...I missed you.
