Four Eyes

It all began in 1988. I couldn't see the blackboard during school. Two weeks later I walked into second grade sporting some clear framed glasses...yup, they had pink and hot green stripes. They were also too big for my face. I ended up looking like a cross between an Easter colored hard candy and a bug. The perm didn't help.

In 1996 I got a job as a lifeguard. The number of children that I pulled out is seriously impressive. That job made me realize that you don't actually need to SEE the kids face to know that they are sniffin the bottom of the pool. In fact, when wearing glasses or contacts, your rescue speed can increase substantionally. I only lost little Billy...I thought he wanted to try to french me...again :)

Fast forward through time.

The year was 2008. My boyfriend noticed that I squinted a lot, had frequent headaches and was a horrible night time driver. When I told him that I couldn't tell the difference between regular and high definition television, I thought I might have to rescitate him. Memories of little Billy flooded back.

Basically I need glasses.

This is me. What?! That is my normal face :)

And this is the visionally enhanced me...sorry it doesn't improve your view...just mine. I loved our eye doctor. My boyfriend picked him out. He was really helpful, explaining each test and what he was looking for, telling us what to look for in frames and even recommended some tips on when (and when not) to throw on my extra set of eyes.

Jeremy picked the frames out. I think he did good. And now, I can see all the pores on Randy Jackson's face as he grooves to those excellent Idol auditions. Literally. I think I could count them.

So do you wear glasses? err...corrective lenses? Do you love your eye doctor? Are you a full-body contact kinda person? Do we have any colored contact peeps in the house? Let me see (heehee) your vision situation via comments please!

Okay, if bangs looked that good on me I'd go and whip out my scissors right now.

You look hot in your new glasses! Not that the squinty-constipated look wasn't working for you ... erm ... shutting up.

My eyesight went bad when I was around 21 or so. I just thought that my favourite soap was using soft focus A LOT. And the mountain in the distance? Well you wouldn't expect something so far away to actually be in focus, right? Turns out WRONG when I got my glasses - wow, you can actually see things far away! And they're in focus!

Since then my eyesight went a bit weaker ... and then steadily improved to the point where I no longer need glasses. Hooray! Or not, since you make glasses look so hot.

I've had to wear glasses full time since I was 13. I do occassionally wear contacts, but honestly, most of the time I throw on my glasses on go. Besdies, most people tell me I don't look "like myself" if I am not wearing glasses.

Well aren't you the cutest four eyes I've ever seen? Definitely a good frame choice by your boyfriend.

I've worn glasses since I was 7 and contacts since fifth grade. Contacts changed my world. My glasses prescription is now 8 years old, it's illegal for me to drive in them, I think I need new.

Your new glasses are too cute!! You're definitely rockin the hot teacher/sexy librarian look. ;) I got glasses in the sixth grade and they were... tragic. Big, round, shiny gold frames- ick. By eighth grade I switched to contacts and I haven't looked back (haha) until last weekend!! I decided since my glasses were like 3 prescriptions behind my contacts, I should update them (still wire, but brown and not as ugly) to glasses I would actually wear in public. Give my contacts a break. :) I bought two really cute pairs of glasses that I pick up this weekend- I'm really excited! Maybe I'll do a four-eyes post as well so everyone can tell me I'm a sexy librarian too. ;)

You look great. I wear glasses only for distance, and have a really fun pair. Most of the time, though, they are in a different purse than the one I grabbed. I need to get better.

Your captions are absolutely hilarious! I don't wear glasses, but all the symptoms you mentioned can be said of my husband. I guess I really need to push for him to go visit the eye doctor.

I love your new glasses. They are adorable and your photos cracked me up.

I do wear glasses (eerily similar to yours). I only need them for night driving and in class and meetings when there is a Power Point. I can see close-up just fine. =)

My glasses story is pretty much the exact same as yours. I had ugly clear pink frames in grade school. Of course the kids were very nice about my 4 eyes so I stopped wearing them. Then a few years ago I realized I was having to squint to see, my depth perception at night was horrible, and I had a constant headache. I originally got glasses just for reading and work. After going to the eye docotor Monday I was told my vision is worse and I need them all the time. My new glasses and contacts are ordered and should be here in 7-10 business days. I can't wait, my head is killing me!

LOL, love the pics. The new glasses are fab!

And yes, I'm sight-challenged. I've worn glasses since I was in 4th grade and contacts since I was in 7th grade. Now, I usually wear contacts, but I switch it up now and then and don the glasses. But someday, I'll be getting Lasik!

I'm am one of the visually impaired. I've worn glasses since 5th grade. I wear my glasses all week to work (I sit in front of a computer all day and contacts bother my eyes too much) and then I wear my contacts (daily disposables - I just throw them away after I wear them) all weekend.

Love your new spectacles, by the way :).

#1. You need to be a glasses model asap. No modeling glasses lessons necessary. You've got it down, girl. I especially like the pretty hand positions in the first two pics. Tyra would be proud. My hands always look like baseball mitts in pictures.

#2. I'm a contact girl. And I'm basically blind without them. Once John threw me the remote when I didn't have mine in and it smacked me in the head. Literally I had no reaction because I didn't see it flying towards my face at an incredible rate of speed.

#3. When I was 12 all I wanted was: to be able to lift one eyebrow like my mom (I accomplished that feat for the first time on my birthday and did it every ten minutes for the rest of the year) and to have purple contacts to set off my amazing eyebrow raising trick. Yeah, I was really cool.

You look awesome with glasses and I will not lie, not a lot of people can pull off looking good in glasses! I wear contacts during the day and glasses at night - they are not a cool as yours though!

I'm leagally blind in one eye. i first noticed this back when I was in fourth grade, and couldn't see a gosh-darned thing if I closed my left-eye. These days, all I can see unaided is the big "E." I wore those LOVELY round glasses until about the 7th or 8th grade, then stopped wearing anything until high school, when I failed my eye exam trying to get my driver's permit. I wore oval glasses until my sophomore year of college, and then I had some a lot like yours, but a little pointer on the ends. I made the switch to contacts after wedding dress shopping (the glasses were too heavy-looking) and have never looked back!

What glasses? I was distracted by your hawtness *giggling but really trying to come to terms w/ my jealousy*

I've worn glasses since the 2nd grade; contacts since high school when cheerleading consumed my life.

And my glasses lens are so thick, it looks like I'm wearing magnifying glasses. Yours are so chic!

I have worn glasses since I was 3! You know, before they were stylish. I went through a contact phase but back to glasses in college. Now I love them. I even have Rx sunglasses.

Welcome to Randy's DAWG Pound, LOL.

Yep, I wear 'em. I got my first pair in 3rd grade...square plastic frames in grey with grey tint...I looked just like my grandpa's mini-me. Stylin'.

In elementary and junior high, I only wore them when I absolutely had to. Nevermind I couldn't see a damn thing, but I wasn't putting the suckers on.

In 10th grade I switched to contacts...I swam that year and clorine and contacts don't mix well, but hey, I at least I looked good, despite the chronic stinging and bloodshot eyes.

In 11th grade I stopped caring and it's been glasses on ever since. I actually think I look funny without them now.

I changed out my frames to the chunky black plastic ones last summer...LOVE THEM!

You look HAWT. In such a naughty teacher, librarian sorta way :)

(Tell the bf I can say stuff like that cause vagina so doesn't do anything for me.)
