On the Top

1 decorating genius
+ 1 gawkward jokester
5 FUN TABLESETTINGS

One Table Five Ways on Vimeo.

Don't try to do the math people. It'll give you a headache. It did for me anyway :)

Anyhoo, back to the video. Did you watch it? Note: I was sweating worse than a Biggest Loser contestant during their last chance workout. Seriously. I had to run up to reapply deodorant three times. And that was before the record button got pushed. Needless to say, I am no HGTV whiz like Sherry!

And if you are here from my house tour that featured on This Young House, WELCOME! A friend of Sherry is a friend of mine. My name is Katie. I am an equal opportunity jokester with a flair for celebrity jabs, cheesy jokes & potty humor. This is more of a warning than an AA intro. Be on your guard my fine friends because at some point while reading ABP, you will be given the opportunity to laugh at yourself. Go ahead and take it...cause afterall, laugh lines are the new skinny. It's like a full-body workout but just for your abs....if you know what I mean. Plus, you are in good company since I make fun of myself more than anything. And yes, I was teased as a child for my ginormous head :)

Oh and folks - stay tuned...this afternoon I have a fun dump in a bag for ya bag of fun to dump on ya....it's all the decorating goodies that didn't make the cut for our video....it's "Sherry Petersik's Picks". Meet ya here around oh-fab-thirty :)

I'd never seen your blog and just started reading hers last week... (shame on me!) I thought you were adorable! Your house definitely makes me want to take a better look at how I can "cutefie" mine though - I love it!

Love your home, I am so impressed that you and your husband have done all the work! Where is the rug in your kitchen from?

I love Bower Power, and I am glad you introduced your readers (namely myself, teehee) to TYH!

I love how dorky you two are! It gives hope for those wannabe domestic goddesses out there *cough*me*cough cough* who want to ditch the stoic "white glove" stereotype.

In closing, thank you for taking the terror out of table-setting. I now know that anything can set a table. Before, my lack of fancy-schmancy household goods discouraged me. But, hey... I have sheets. I have scarves. I now have a tablescape! Yay!!!

:)

Kari -

The fabulous Shades of Light kitchen rug was only a couple days old when Sherry came over. Here is the link...

I can't say that it is a great rug because that would be lying...it is more than great. It is holding up perfectly in a very high traffic area and we even got crushed oreos on it and they came right out. I LOVE IT. Both me & my boyfriend would highly recommend one.

Cute!

How old are you two? You seem really young... I hope you're not of an age where you're insulted by that. It's a compliment, for sure.

Hi! I've been a long time follower of both of your blogs. The fact that you guys have teamed up has made my month. I love you both! I too am a 28 yr old on a smaller budget with big dreams for my home. Keep up the inspiration. I love all your ideas.

Hi Katie,

I've so enjoyed looking through your blog and the pics of your cute house...can you tell me where the white pillows with green branchy design on your leather chairs came from? I've been searching for something similar. Thanks!

Dear Amanda - The woven balls that were in the bowl in the first tablesetting scheme were from my local Pier 1 store. Always check their clearance section - it is awesome.

Hi Anon #1 - Sherry is 27 and I am 28. Although you should know that I have the maturity level of someone half my age at times...especially when I am nervous or excited...or breathing. Sherry just has a great complexion and is teeny tiny...makes for a younger look :)

Dear Anon #2 - YAY for making your month! Hopefully we will have many more to come!

Hey Elaine - the green & white pillows are from Target.

Thanks for the support you guys!

XO - Katie

I started following your blog recently (through TYH) and just saw those amazing red and white bowls. My question to you is, when you find pieces like that, how many do you tend to buy? I recently married into a large family and I will eventually have my fair share of hosting duties, so it puzzles me when I come across great finds whether to buy in sets of 8, 10 or smaller

Your home is beautiful and you guys are too cute lol. I've been reading TYH for a few weeks now, and in that video you look like you've been friends forever! Great work guys!

i recently found your blog through TYH, and i was so excited to see you two joining forces! I love all your fun ideas! And I really love that most of your ideas are cheap and do-able for people on a budget like me!

Hahah, you guys are awesome. You had me laughing out loud (unfortunatly not so good when you're at work- your colleagues tend to look at you a bit funny;) ).

It looks like you guys had so much fun together.

This video was too cute - I would have never thought to pull from all around the house - such a simple concept but you never think about it!

Ps. I love how you guys "popped in" and "popped out" very awesome "special effects" there!! LOL
